Threading Q&A

Threading: you may or may not have heard of it, but it may be the perfect hair removal for you. Here's some frequently asked questions about the treatment.

What is threading, anyway?

It's a hair removal treatment in which a tightly twisted thread is used to remove hair. The practice originated around central Asia.

What's so great about threading?

It's natural, quick, doesn't cause ingrowns, and works for all skin types and hair colors with minimal irritation. It also exfoliates skin in the process, leaving you with a beautiful glow.

What is threading best for?

It's mainly known for eyebrows; a quick threading session is a great way to get that perfect eyebrow shape. However, it can also be used to get rid of facial hairs and sideburns.

Should I thread or wax my face?

It's a very personal choice, but wax has chemicals in it that may cause breakouts. Threading won't irritate your skin as much.

I have sensitive skin. Is threading still okay for me?

Absolutely! Threading is all-natural and small-scale, causing far less irritation that other hair-removal methods.

I'm in a hurry. How long does threading take?

You're in luck; threading is ridiculously quick, taking around 15 minutes an appointment. Great for a quick clean-up before a date!

Can I thread at home?

Threading requires a lot more skill than tweezing or waxing, so it's not advisable to try it at home. However, Radhika Beauty Spa offers many threading services if it's something you're interested in trying. For more information and pricing, check our Services page.

I have acne. Is threading still okay?

If you have acne, threading can be done, but could irritate your skin further.

My skin is a bit irritated after my threading session. What do I do?

It's no big deal, so don't worry! It should go away on its own after a while. If it's annoying, put something cold on it, and then moisturize.

How long will threading last before the hair grows back?

A lot longer than waxing or plucking with tweezers, that's for sure! After threading, hair grows back around two to three weeks later.
